Homan’s previous grift involved 2024 bribery charges for accepting $50,000 in a CAVA bag from undercover FBI agents posing as business executives in return for future government contracts under Drumpf. In a signal to the grifters of the Trump deep state, no scam is off-limits in this kleptocracy. The move from Little Napoleon to Bovino is a change of optics and tone, not policy: Homan is the architect of the policy. The underlying tactics, legal positions, and goal of mass deportations won’t change.

Trump has targeted Minnesota because it is a progressive blue city, which was the origin of the George Floyd protests that sparked the Black Lives Matter movement during his first term. And because no grievance is too petty, Trump lost in Minnesota three times.

Including Goode and Pretti, ICE has killed eight people during the first month of 2026. This list includes a Cuban immigrant who died by asphyxiation while in ICE detention. A coroner ruled his death a homicide. Trump’s Goon Squad is on track to shatter its previous record of 32 deaths in 2025.
