"ICE for the US, Delta Force for the rest of the world" needs updating. In a move that appears to have blindsided Italian officials, ICE goons will travel to Milan as "diplomatic security." The prospect of ICE in Italy after two extrajudicial murders on the streets of Minneapolis sparked strong reactions. Mayor Giuseppe Sala said of the ICE Gestapo, “This is a militia that kills, a militia that enters into the homes of people, signing their own permission slips. It is clear they are not welcome in Milan, without a doubt. " RAI state TV recently aired video of ICE thugs threatening to break the glass on the vehicle of a RAI crew reporting in Minneapolis. US law enforcement agencies have provided support for previous Olympics, but that was before ICE was turned into the MAGA Gestapo. (Variety)
The New York Times editorial board tracks 12 categories of democratic erosion on a scale of 0 for democracy to 10 for autocracy. For this representation, the U.S. was set to 0 when Trump began his second term. Ten represents the condition in a true autocracy, such as China, Iran or Russia. America has the right to intervene, assault, abduct any government it doesn’t like in the Western Hemisphere and plunder the spoils. At least now we can forget about the last few months of fentanyl feint, when the U.S. military kept blowing up fishing boats allegedly loaded with Venezuelan narcotics. Trump said the quiet part out loud in his Saturday press conference. “We’re going to be taking out a tremendous amount of wealth out of the ground, and that wealth is going to the people of Venezuela and people from outside of Venezuela that used to be in Venezuela, and it goes also to the United States of America in the form of reimbursement for the damages caused by that country.” I.e., it’s all a big fat gracias to the oil and gas companies that donated nearly $500 million dollars to get Trump reelected and who have already been rewarded with billions in tax breaks and neutered environmental rules.
